Upbeat APDA graded jazz on Saturdays with Katie, who also leads our Jazz Dance Troupe, which won first places at three Auckland competitions in 2026.

About jazz at WE DANCE
Jazz at WE DANCE follows the APDA graded jazz syllabus, with APDA exams. This term there are three Saturday classes at our Albany studio: Junior Jazz 2 (ages 7–8), Junior Jazz 3 (ages 8–9) and Elementary Jazz 1 (ages 9–12). Each class is 60 minutes, and all three are taught by Katie, our jazz teacher and Head of the Jazz Dance Troupe.
New students start with a trial class ($23 for a 60-minute class). At the trial, the teacher sees where your child is and places them in the right level. Jazz classes wear the WE DANCE jazz uniform.
Troupe places are by invitation from our regular classes. Our Jazz Dance Troupe, and the Broadway jazz groups in our Musical Theatre Troupe, perform and compete at Auckland dance competitions.
What your child learns
- APDA graded jazz, level by level: Junior Jazz 2, Junior Jazz 3 and Elementary Jazz 1 this term
- Preparing for APDA jazz exams
- Strong dancers may be invited into the Jazz Dance Troupe

Book a trial class. The teacher sees where your child is and places them in the right level. This term we run Junior Jazz 2 (ages 7–8), Junior Jazz 3 (ages 8–9) and Elementary Jazz 1 (ages 9–12), all on Saturdays.
How much is a jazz trial class?
